I wanted to provide you an update regarding Violent crime, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

OP RUDDSCAN is the investigation into a firearms discharge on 15/08/2025 at Wayneflete Square W11. Two suspects on a moped pursued and cornered the victim before both rider and pillion fired shots that narrowly missed the victim. The moped was traced to a dump site in HAMMERSMITH, where it was recovered along with a loaded firearm, spare loaded magazine, and approximately £35,000 worth of Class A drugs. The firearm was connected to the discharge via a recovered casing at the scene.
The primary suspect was identified including DNA linking them to a bag containing the recovered firearm and drugs. Warrants executed across three addresses on 17/02/2026 resulted in three arrests, with additional drugs, CS-style incapacitant spray, and £6,000 cash seized.

In the early hours of 18/02/2026, the CPS authorised charges including attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent, possession of a Section 5 firearm, and PWITS Class A, after which the suspect was remanded at Westminster Magistrates’ Court
